Vertical Growth指公司在生产链上的扩张。比如说以前你公司是只是生产牛奶的，但是现在开始开专卖店销售牛奶了，这属于vertical growth。horizontal growth只在同一生产结构的情况下扩张公司，譬如在其他地方开分公司，或者增加你的产品种类。这有个英文的定义Horizontal growth is the expanding of a firm's activities into other geographic regions and/or by increasing the range of procts and services offered to current markets. Vertical growth, in contrast, involves a firm's taking over a function previously performed by a supplier or a distributor. Concentric diversification, in contrast, is the addition of procts or divisions, which are related to the corporation's main business, but are added because of the attractiveness of other instries rather than because they support the activities of the current proct lines.
